It is often an exciting tale to see a girl meets boy and they get along into a journey with twists and turns only for love to bloom. Something like that happens in this film. Let us see how this goes.
Story
Sasirekha (Genelia) is a stubborn and short tempered girl but very innocent and kind hearted. She is brought to Amalapuram for her own marriage even she is not aware of and she decides to escape since she cannot say no to her aggressive father Babu Rao (Ahuti Prasad).
In her escape, she comes across Anand (Tarun) and soon both of them embark on a journey from Rajahmundry to Vijayawada trying to escape from the eyes of Babu Rao's men and also various other elements. In this process, Anand keeps helping Sasi at every nook and corner and they have their own share of fights and laughter. Soon the attachment grows and the fondness also increases between them. However, there is one thing that Anand does not tell Sasi throughout their journey since he is scared of the outcome.
What is the truth? Does Sasirekha get married finally? All this forms the rest of the story.
Performance
Tarun looked a bit tired and he should have worked more on his usual smart techniques and energy, the fresh look in him was missing. Genelia was the life and soul of the film and she came in with a superb performance. Ahuti Prasad is the best bet for the coastal roles, Paruchuri showed his strength and mettle this time.
Subbaraju was good, Raghu Babu was hilarious and M S as usual did his bit to generate laughs.
The director has come out with a regular romantic tale but then it was necessary to see that the script was held tightly and the screenplay was executed with full depth. The story got a bit lengthy and the music was just about okay with two songs to really cheer about.
Camera could have been better given the picturesque locations and editing was required very much at many points since they kind of hampered the momentum of the story.
Analysis
The title of the film was appealing and this will surely catch the family audience in a big way. The talk that this is a remake of 'Jab We Met' can be dropped since there is no resemblance to the storyline except the journey part. There were few places where the dialogues got a bit too lengthy and that caused impatience to the audience. Tarun's words on the essence of the literary greats of Vijayawada had lot of knowledge but lacked the punch to create impact. This will turn out to be a good gainer if the word of mouth goes well and given the fact that there are about ten days for the Sankranti biggies to arrive, the chances are high that this will be a successful venture. But still, the content part with lengthy narration may bring a drop for those expectations as well.

Posani's MENTAL KRISHNA (2009) Telugu Movie Review |

Cinematogrphy: G Sridhar

Story
A pathetic tale, the story begins with Satya (Satya) who wants to get admission into ISB but fails the exam and on the other hand, the milkman who supplies milk gets through. For some reason, Satya falls in love with him and exactly at the time of marriage, he backs off due to personal reasons. At this point of time, Satya's parents are on the verge of breakdown when Satya's family friends intervene and persuade her to get married to Muddu Krishna (Posani) who has already seen Satya before and is keen on having her. Satya likes Krishna's nature and agrees for the marriage but much to her horror, she discovers that Krishna is actually an impotent and he is also a homosexual with a lover (Raghu Babu). From then on, hell begins for Satya as Krishna keeps suspecting her for every small thing and tortures her in every possible way. How does she overcome all that? Is there a solution for this? All this forms the rest of the story.
Presentation
The director has come out with a pathetic subject and true to its genre, the narration is nasty and the presentation is equally embarrassing. The dialogues are dirty, the script was written shoddily and the screenplay was terrible. Music suited the situation and songs were a letdown. Though the camera was meant to be steady cam technology, there was really nothing special in the angles or the visual presentation. Most of it was indoors so locations were not a problem. Posani has fitted the bill portraying a sadistic role and he looks like one. Satya was immensely sexy but then she has tarnished her image by opting for a sleazy role like this. Brahmanandam did his bit mechanically, M S Narayana was regular, the seniors like Giri Babu, Ranganath, Delhi Rajeswari and others did their bit. The others need no mention here.
Conclusion
One really fails to understand how such movies pass through the censors. Right from the word start till the end, the entire movie is a presentation of how best sadism can be shown but then there is no message for the audience or not anything worthwhile to learn except a sleazy show of disgusting bedroom talk by a mentally deranged person. The film by no means is for the women audience or the family audience, perhaps the core front benchers also might find this to be a very confusing story to digest.
Disgusting!!!

List of Telugu Movies Released in 2008 |
2008 has started on dull note but is finally ending with good results. Small films like Nachchavule brought cheers to the industry and there is hope that Tollywood still can provide us some gems occasionally. Yet, this year has been a very disappointing one. Except a few movies like Gamyam, Kotta Bangaru Lokam, Vinaykudu, Ashta Chemma and Nachchavule, none of the movies (including the blockbusters) are good content wise. Not a single trend-setting movie released this year. More than the blockbusters, Telugu audiences this year suffered with pain-in-the neck movies. Here is the list of movies that gave us headaches.
Note: List is in the chronological order of release.
1. Aapada Mokkula Vaadu
(One wonders Posani really does know what direction is. There is a scene in the movie where hero Naga Babu cuts off genital of a villain and puts it in a freezer. That is the height of perversion. Such absurd scenes are aplenty in the movie).
2. Okka Magadu
(This much-hyped film not only brought bad name to director YVS but also the film’s hero Balakrishna. After the release, NBK confessed that he started the movie without hearing the script, as he blindly believed the director. Not that there are no other disasters in NBK’s career but this one takes the cake.)
3. Krishnarjuna
(On any day, we can watch Bruce Almighty any number of times than this big bore.)
4. Kathanayakudu
(This is biggest flop in Rajni’s career after disaster Baba. This film showed that P.Vasu urgently needs to bid adieu to direction!).
5. Baladoor
(Why did producer Suresh Babu make us to go through this torture? What was the director thinking when he made this film that no Telugu channel is airing '70s movies, so he wanted to offer such movie?)
6. Salute
(New director Rajashekar must have not known that a film has only one climax, not several ones. Like Buy One Get free, the movie offers two movies on one ticket.)
7. Mallepuvvu
(Perhaps this is only film that takes the credit for running only two days in the theatres. Joke is that when Bhumika went to a theatre with her gang of friends to watch the movie, audiences started shouting at Bhumika for selecting such insipid flick.)
8. Three
(This is most eccentric, absurd movie that released in 2008. Verdict: Don’t dig your own graveyard.)
9. Keka
(2008 showed that the so-called magic of Teja is finally and completely ended.)
10. Neninthe
(After Bachi and Andhrawala, Neninthe is biggest dud in Puri’s career.)
Following are also deserve to be in the list..
1) Andamaina Manasulo (It proved that music director R.P.Patnaik should stay away from acting and direction too.)
2) Nee Sukhame Ne Korutunna (TV soap operas look better than this)
3) Adi Vishnu
4) Sangamam
5) Ankith Pallavi Friends
6) Kousalya Supraja Rama
7) Deepavali
8) Dongala Bandi
9) Ek Police
10) Chedugudu.
