M M KEERAVANI PROFILE |
M. M. Kreem alias Maragadamani alias M. M. Keera Vaani (also spelt M. M. Keeravani) is a film composer in India. He is also a singer. He is the cousin of Tollywood director S.S. Rajamouli. His family friends like Mallik(cartoonist),S.S.Kanchi(Actor-Amrutham(telugu serial) Fame),M.M.Sreelekha(music director) are all dedicated to the film industry.Keeravani is known for his own footprint in telugu film industry with his compilations for annamayya(telugu film).Liked also by the bollywood for his songs in Jism,Paheli,Criminal,etc.,.
Music composer M.M. Kareem’s name sounds more like a magic chant than a name. Though the name sounds as fresh as his music, he has been around a long time. Down South, he has composed under the name M.M. Keeravani for Telugu films and Maragathamani for his Tamil projects
M.M. Kareem composed music for the Telugu-Hindi bilingual movie Criminal starring Nagarjuna and Manisha Koirala. The number Tu mile dil khile aur jeene ko kya chahiye sounded good but the music faded with the film, which was a flop. We then heard his music in Jism. Both the film and the music were hits. Kareem had arrived.
He is now working on Paheli starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. He is a well-known name in the Southern music industry and works from Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai depending on the project. The Bhatt family seems to have ‘adopted’ him. He carved a niche for himself in Bollywood through Bhatt films like Jism, Zakhm, Criminal and Rog. Kareem says that the Mahesh Bhatt likes his music and the duo work very well together.
He also strayed into the ‘arty circle’ by composing the music for Sudhir Mishra’s Is Raat Ki Subaah Nahin.
Kareem’s journey to success has been long. After much hardship, his music for Ramoji Rao’s Manasu Mamata brought him the fame and recognition he craved for. Since then, he has composed for 178 movies in 15 years in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
He is looking forward to Rajiv Babbar’s Kasak and a Tanuja Chandra project along with some Telugu movies. Handling many projects keeps him from getting bored, he explains.
He favorite music composers range from R.D. Burman and Kishori Amonkar to K.V. Mahadevan and M.S. Viswanathan. He loves ghazals. He believes in Swami Vivekananda and Osho – to live by a goal and celebrate is what he aims to do with his life. He seems to be doing just that with his music.

Story:
Raja(Jr. NTR), an orphan, is a ruthless robber. He dreams of earning a fast buck so that he can settle down in life. And then, he stumbles on a fine opportunity. A ravishing beauty Mahi (Priyamani), a rich heiress, falls in love with him. The girl happens to be his childhood well-wisher and has always considered him her prince.
He plans to surrender the girl to a gang who wants to kill her for her riches. But the villains play foul, and kill him. Raja reaches Yamaloka. He creates confusion in Yamaloka by stealing Yamapasam as whoever in possession of Yamapasam will become Yama. The rest of the story is all about how Yama (Mohan Babu) and Raja try to outsmart each other. After regaining power, Yama sends Raja back to earth, but only to take away his life once again.
This film became super hit of the season, despite divide talk initially. Audience are showing their overwhelming response for the scene where Hero enters like Tiger. Villagers get attracted by the dialogues of NTR as Yama. This is another blockbuster in the combination of Rajamouli, and NTR. It collected 15 crores in first week, and 30 crores in first month. This film ran successfully for 50 days in 200+ theatres all over the world.

Story:
VV Vinayak is known for directing good action-oriented films and 'Yogi' is the latest from his school. It is the remake of Kannada hit film 'Jogi' which has mother sentiment in its backdrop. It seems sentiment has become the hot topic these days. The directors follow the trend though unintentionally, as there are many films with sentiment in their backdrop. While, Raakhi and Annavaram are based on sister sentiment, 'Yogi' has mother sentiment.
Eswara Prasad (Prabhas) stays in Bethamcharla in Kurnool district and is being pampered by his mother Santamma (Sarada). Prasad leaves for city in search of a job, but gets caught in the hands of land mafia unknowingly. Prasad saves one Kotaiah (Kota Srinivasa Rao), who leads one of landsharks in the city, when he was attacked by the other group led by Narsing Pahilwan (Pradeep Rawat) and his brother Saidulu (Subbaraju). So Narisng decides to eliminate him. In the process, Narsing insults his mother by stamping the golden bangles meant for Prasad's brother. Irked over this, Prasad kills Narsing. A tea stall owner Chandranna (Chandramohan), who gave him employment in the city, gives him the name of Yogi while securing his release from police. In this backdrop, Santamma reaches Hyderabad in search of her son and stays with a journalism student called Nandini (Nayanatara). Prasad's friend Basha (Ali) who meets Santamma takes her to a temple to unite the mother and son. Yogi fails to visit the temple and Santamma dies while waiting for her son at the temple. While Santamma's body is being taken to crematorium, Yogi reaches the place and joins the funeral procession but could not realize that it was her mother. He realizes the truth only after it is moved into the fire cabin, through Basha and Nandini. The film ends with tragedy as Yogi fails to see his mother again after he comes from his village.
Prabhas did justice to his role with good ease in action scenes and the sentiment scenes as well. Especially he gave superb performance in the climax. Nayanatara restricted to glamour role and only had a couple of duets with the hero. It is Subbaraju who needs complements for giving an aggressive performance as villain. Pradeep Rawat is okay as villain. Action by Vijayan and the cinematography by Sameer Reddy are good. Despite all this, the film lacked the punch that was visible in Vinayak's films. It looks as if he tried to follow the original film and pushed back his own screenplay. In fact the flavor of Vinayak's direction is missing with the screenplay is shoddy. The 'taking capabilities' of Vinayak are missing, giving a doubt whether it was done by Vinayak or not as the entire concentration was focused on boosting the image of Prabhas alone. While the following the original, Vinayak might have kept his inherent skills in the cold storage, which resulted in poor narration of 'Yogi' and left it with an average mark. However, the comedy track in the film is good in Venumadhav character while that is on Sunil is poor as Aparichitudu kind of action has become a laughing stock these days.
