Telugu actress and producer born near Vijayawada, AP, into a family of stage performers. Joined the Ramatilakam-Pulipati stage company in Vijaywada. Studied music, including the folk Harikatha style, from composer Saluri Rajeswara Rao. First break in Calcutta in C. Pullaiah's Shri Krishna Tulabharam.

Acted in mythologicals, e.g. Radha in Shri Krishna Leelalu, Maya Bazaar, etc. After Illalu, was associated prominently in melodramas by Ramabrahmam in e.g. Apavadu and Panthulamma, L.V. Prasad and K.V. Reddy. Turned producer with Rajyam Prod. (1952) and made films like Daasi, Nartanasala, Shakuntala and Rangeli Raja.

Elder sister of actress Sriranjani. Mother of director M., Mallikharjuna Rao.

Actress known as Senior to distinguish her from her younger sister, the Telugu and Tamil star Sri Ranjani (Junior). She was born in Narasa Rao pet Taluk, AP in 1906. She was a major singing star in 1930's. She became famous by her record albums and audio releases of plays by the Gramophone Company of India. She was a stage actress in Krishna Vilasa Nataka Samajam that produced mythological plays. She is known for her portrayal of male roles, e.g. Krishna, Abhimanyu, Satyavan. She made her debut to Telugu cinema in 1934 for C Pullayya's Lavakusa. There after she appeared with Vel pics in Shri Krishna Leelalu (1935) and Mayabazaar (1936). She died four years later from cancer. She acted in eight films.
