M MOHAN BABU

Mohan Babu. b.( March 19 1952) is a popular Indian film actor who stars in Tollywood films.
Babu was born in an agrarian village in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. He was named Bakthavatsalam by his parents, but he decided to change his name to Mohan Babu when he entered the film industry. He made his debut in the Telugu Cinema industry with the film Swargam-Narakam, which was very successful. He carried on from there with a string of hits like Alluri Seetharama Raju and Kannavari Kalalu. Most importantly, Babu not only showed his ability to play heroic roles in many of his films, but also was successful in acting as villain, and even comedian. He performed in over 500 films during his career, in over 100 of which he starred as a hero. Throughout his career, Babu has been known to be unwaveringly disciplined — so much so that his industry nickname is "Manchu" ("ice").

Babu also produced forty-seven films, including Assembly Rowdy, Rowdy Mogudu, Alludu Garu, Pedda Rayudu, Brahma, Rowdy Gari Pellam, Siva Sankar, Postman, Adavilo Anna, Kuntiputrudu, and Major Chandrakanth.

Mohan Babu was nominated to the upper house by the Telugu Desam Party, and served one term as a parliamentarian. He is also the founder of the Sri Vidyanikethan group of educational institutions. He is the Chairman of the institution and is known to provide free education to 25% of his students.

He has two sons and one daughter. His sons, Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manojkumar, are also actors. His daughter, Lakshmi Prasanna, is a trained actor, working in American situation comedies.
