Chittajallu Pullaiah, popularly known as C. Pullaiah, is to be counted among those film personalities associated with the Telugu movie right from its silent movie days. When Raghupathi Suryaprakash, son of Raghupathi Venkaiah, whom he assisted as a director went broke C. Pullaiah returned to Kakinada, turned his home into a studio and produced the silent movie, 'Bhaktha Markandeya'. 'Sathi Anasuya' is the first children's movie in Telugu and sixty child artistes were booked for it. Pullaiah took them all to Calcutta, and a teacher too along with them, so that their studies might not be interrupted. He rented a house where he looked after all the children as a parent would. Wife Rangamma ran a small diary to meet the need for milk, butter-milk and butter for the children under their care. The sixty children regarded Pullaiah as their father. Relangi used to take them out sight seeing and to movies.

C Krishnaveni is a woman of many talents - an actress, singer and producer. She made her screen debut at the age of 10 in 'Sati Anasuya' (1935) and later acted in films like Kacha Devayani (1938), Gollabhama (1947), Madalasa (1948) and Manadesam (1949). She was married to Mirjapuram Raja in 1941. She has the credit of introducing actors like NTR, Anjali Devi and Vijaykumar and technicians like Ghantasala and Ramesh Naidu. In recognition of her contribution to the film industry, C Krishnaveni has been named for the prestigious Raghupati Venkaiah Memorial Award for the year 2004.
