Dr. D Rama Naidu won the Prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award

Movie Moghul Dr. Daggubati Rama Naidu won the esteemed Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2009. This Dada Saheb Phalke Award to Rama Naidu would be given by Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Govt. of India.

Dada Saheb Phalke Award would be given to Daggubati Rama Naidu on behalf of Indian Government for Rama Naidu’s life time contribution to Indian cinema.

Remember, The Guinness Book of Records has also listed Rama Naidu as one of the most producer with 110 films to his credit in various languages including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Bengali.

Producer B. Nagi Reddy and actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao won Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1986 and 1990 respectively.

Sekhar Kammula to direct Rana, Grand son of Ramanaidu

Anand, Godavari and Happy Days director Sekhar Kammula is now getting ready to direct another film with Rana as hero. After planning the re-make of Happy Days in Hindi and also a movie with Nagarjuna, he finally decided to direct a film with Rana as hero.

Rana will be introduced to telugu film industry with this movie. Rana who will be dbuting as hero in this new movie is the grand son of Ramanaidu, son of Suresh and nephew of Venkatesh. Rana was waiting for a correct launch pad for his entry into Tollywood and he finally got it in the form of Sekhar Kammula.

This Sekhar Kammula-Rana new film will be produced by AVM production house. This movie will be officially launched in January 2009. AVM is also producing another movie in telugu with Varun Sandesh as hero.

Story

Sri Ram (Srikanth) is a loyal professional who works at Ranga Rao (Kota), a software company owner. As Ranga Rao leaves abroad for 10 days he asks Sri Ram to take care of his house. Supraja (Charmy), the daughter of Ranga Rao who stays in hostel comes to home at the same time and stays there. Adding to her, many people come and stay in that house claiming some link with Ranga Rao. Sri Ram entertains everyone and serves them. In the process, Supraja falls in love of Sri Ram. Ranga Rao returns and announces that he is going to make Sri Ram as his son in law. But a doctor reveals publicly that Sri Ram is already married. What happens from then forms the rest of the plot!

Performances

Srikanth looked young like in any other film. It is good that he is maintaining his physique very well for years together. But it would be good if he chooses some sensible films too.

Charmy spilled her glamour in red saris and Gowri Munjal also did something similar in a song. Kota, Bharani, Raghunatha Reddy, Chalapathi Rao, Uttej and others have performed their parts. The only relief in the movie is bits and pieces comedy by Krishna Bhagawan.

Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, LB Sri Ram and Siva Reddy have acted in weak tracks where no quality laughs could be spilled.

There is nothing big to talk about technical departments for this output. Director needs to work on contemporary subjects at least from next ventures.

Analysis

The rotten concoction of outdated story line, 1985 style narration, a very Good Samaritan hero, sympathetic scenes those explain hero's immaculate characterization, obsolete music, weak comedy and unconvincing plot forms 'Kousalya Supraja Rama'. If this movie is intended to enthuse female audiences, then that proves to be a wrong idea. Even female audiences have got immune to highly sensitive and sentimental scenes. Majority of Telugu audiences love to watch everything in lighter note these days irrespective of male or female.

Second half killed the tempo while the first half too has given a hint that it is going to pain at the end.

The movie happens to be a lost venture as the budget incurred also appears big due to foreign locations and notable casting.

There is nothing more to discuss about this film.

Mega Star's Tea Party to Cine Field Photos And Highlights

We are not talking about Chiranjeevi's political party. This is about the lunch party given by Chiranjeevi for all the Tollywood colleagues on the occasion of bidding good bye for films. The interesting aspect is that Mohan Babu and Uday Kiran who are assumed to be the enemies for Chiranjeevi are seen in the party enjoying lunch. No person from Nandamuri and Ghattamaneni's clan has seen light in the function but many of Tollywood celebrities have taken part.

On this occasion Chiranjeevi said that he is going far way from film industry but not leaving it for all. He said that he is giving the treat for film industry that blessed him all these years. He also said that his political entry is not bidding adieu for film industry. He also asked for support from Tollywood for his political venture. Along with Mohan Babu and Uday Kiran also the seen celebrities are K Raghavendra Rao, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, K Vishwanath, B Gopal, Kodanda Rami Reddy, Keeravani and others.

Some Tollywood bigwigs have attended the Oni Function of Krishnam Raju's daughters and hence missed Chiranjeevi's lunch.

TELUGU CHEENI KUM

Ramanaidu has not lost his passion for action despite his old age. He is now playing an interesting role in the film 'Tea Samosa Biscuit'. Most of the scenes in the film will be shot in a Restaurant of Iranian Style.

The lead role is played by Ramya Krishna. She runs the restaurant in the story. Ramanaidu is one of the early visitors to the restaurant. After finishing his morning walk, he steps into restaurant, orders for a cup of tea, and sips it while staring at Ramya Krishna.

This is his regular practice. He gets hooked by Ramya Krishna's bewitching looks in the film. But he is a serous diabetic patient in the film. Still he drinks tea with sugar just to steal her looks.

Ramanaidu is now talking about the role with pride in his private talks. Let us wait and watch how this 'Andhra Cheeni Kum Pair' entertain us.

DIL RAJU TO INTRODUCE NAGA CHAITANYA

The most successful producer Dil Raju succeeded in convincing the Tollywood bigwigs like ANR and Dr Ramanaidu to launch their grand son Naga Chaithanya to Tollywood as hero. The Akkineni family and Dr Ramanaidu family has tremendous confidence on Dil Raju and Dil Raju's track record also proved several times at the box office.

Though the debutant director Vasu Sharma name was heard, it isn't confirmed. But an young debutant director will handle Naga Chaithanya?

The film will roll in couple of months. The other heroes from Akkineni family-Nag, Sumanth and Sushanth were launched on Annapurna banner.

2006 RAGHUPATHI VENKAIAH AWARD FOR DR.D RAMANAIDU

The AP State Film Television and Theatre Development Corporation has selected veteran Telugu film producer D Ramanaidu for the Raghupati Venkaiah Award for 2006 in recognition of his services to the film industry.

Ramanaidu was born on June 6, 1936 at Karamchedu in Prakasam district. He earned a name for himself as film producer (110 films) and distributor. He acted in a couple films too.

The award carries Rs 50,000 in cash, a golden Nandi, a gold medal and a citation.
