There is a mythological story of dwarf god Lord Vinayaka who impresses his parents with his down to earth nature and love to win the position of 'ganadhipatyam'. Here the title 'Vinayakudu' is apt as the obese hero impresses his beautiful lover and wins her heart.

Story:

Karthik (Krishnudu), the obese guy joins in an ad designing company. Girls tend to keep him away from them due to his odd personality. He finds a girl Kalpana (Sonia) interesting in that company. She too shuns him initially and also cracks lots of jokes on his physical appearance. But the soft hearted Karthik wins the heart of arrogant Kalpana with his immaculate attitude. Finally, the egoistic Kalpana falls in love with Karthik unknowingly. On the other hand, the love track of Sandhya (Poonam) and Altaf (Surya Tej) runs separately. Shalini (Ankitha) is a character that's used as catalyst to elevate the character of Karthik.
Performances:

Krishnudu simply excelled in his role as fat Karthik. His Godavari slang has got its originality and ease. All together his performance itself is under played and aptly fitting. He has justified as a crooked egoistic senior student in 'Happy Days' and here in 'Vinayakudu' he pulled sympathy for his character from the audiences.

Sonia looked normal but her magnetism is known for many. She has a lengthy and meaningful role to play in this film as a girl with huge self respect and personal feelings. Well, she proved that her 'noodle like' hair is her trade mark.

Poonam Kour played a naughty urban girl's role. She looked slim and glamorous. Her role is not that substantial in the film and she cannot be called a second-heroine. She is only a friend of heroine.

Cinematographer PG Vinda (as doctor) and Miss Andhra Poonam Kour's mother (as the mother of Sonia's fiancé) have appeared in guest roles.

Technically the movie got enough boost and there is nothing to point mistake. In a couple of scenes the editing cuts appeared to have jumped. It's a director's movie on a whole where he has rightly handled the departments of dialogues and screenplay as well.

Analysis:

It' a well written, well handled and in one line to say' a well made movie'. The tempo appears to be slow but the screenplay is touching. The 'feel good' appeal is not missed either in first half or second half. Comedy is intertwined with the main story and that breathes a fresh feel.

The characters and characterizations in the movie appeal for youngsters, the content in the movie appeals for all age groups from kids to old lot. Director Sai Kiran Adivi deserves appreciation on a whole, although committed tiny flaw. Viz., the motive of the director is to show that main lead Karthik as obese by hereditary. That's not established fully as it has contradicted with the scenes where he was shown a glutton. Ignoring such logics beside, the film gives a pleasant, hilarious, sentimental and touching experience.

The film appealed well for mass audiences as well for the humorous content glued in the movie.

The much awaited Gopichand-Anuskka starred 'Souryam' has released today. The film raised the interest graph with two reasons. One is Gopichand's success track and the other is posters of Anushka. Is the film in tune with the expectations? Is it the same sterotype action flick like Gopichand's earlier ones? Let us probe into the details.

Story

An action packed treat, the story is on the backdrop of Kolkata in a college which is joined by Vijay (Gopichand). There he catches up with Shwetha (Anushka) and what starts as a casual relation turns into deep romance for Shwetha but Vijay keeps her at bay. Meanwhile, Vijay somehow wants to get close to Divya (Poonam) and helps her in all ways possible. On the other hand, there is the dreaded goon Sivaram Goud (Manoj K Jayan) who is in the jail in Hyderabad but his son (Ajay) and his goons come all the way searching for Divya. What is the reason? Why does Vijay want to get close to Divya? Why is Sivaram searching for Divya? Is Shwetha successful in her love with Vijay? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Gopichand is at his best and proved to be a wonderful actor again. He mastered in enacting the emotional scenes. He also has shown some glitter in dances with a couple of interesting steps. Anushka's screen presence elevated the movie on a whole with glamour. She reduced a lot and that is optimum. But she over-acted in boozing scene and bathroom scene.

Poonam Kaur played a prominent role and she is just ok. Her face is going flabby where she needs to keep a check on that.

New villain Manoj Jain did his best but still the range of Murali Sharma, Pradeep Rawat or Prakash Raj is not seen. Ajay's villainy is also up to the mark.

Ali's comedy as Gymson brought ample laughs. Krishna Bhagawan and Raghu Babu are at their best and the script supported them a lot.

Coming to technical departments, Cinematography is at its best, fight sequences are exhausting and music is average. Shiva's direction has suffered some hiccups and he failed to bring in Kolkata nativity on screen.


Analysis

This is another movie in the lines of Gopichand's earlier films- Yagnam, Ranam etc where action, emotion and violence form the formula.

The movie entertains the mass action film lovers as there is enough comedy packed in right manner. Ali's 6-pack comedy, Krishna Bhagawan-Raghubabu's episode, MS Narayana's guest appearance and situational comedy scenes with lead roles have generated ample humor. Keeping Anushka's trade mark eroticism aside and notable direction faults the other side; the film proves to be an entertainer by all means.

First half of the movie is average while the second half picked up the momentum and raised interest levels. But the climax appears to have dragged due to lengthy screenplay.

On a whole it is a mass entertainer and the success of this flick depends on the patronage of mass audiences.

Gopichand, Anushka and Poonam Kaur starrer SOWRYAM Posters and Wallpapers

Sowryam's audio was released recently at Hotel Marriott, Hyderabad. The movie has been produced by V. Anand Prasad under Bhavya Art Creations banner, introducing cinematographer Siva as director, with Gopichand, Anushka and Poonam Kaur in the lead. This is the second movie that Gopichand and Anushka are acting in. Their first movie together was Lakshyam, a runaway hit which sparked rumours of an affair between them.

Mani Sharma has scored melodious tunes to all the songs in the film. Aditya Music is marketing the audio.

Vinayakudu's Music Out On Vinayakachavathi

Vinayakudu sounds like the title of a devotional movie at first, but a look at the publicity stills assures us that this is a superb entertainer with a difference. Starring Sonia, of Happy Days fame, the movie’s soundtrack is being launched on September 3rd (Vinayak Chaturthi) on Aditya Music label.

Saikiran, Sekhar Kammula’s apprentice, makes his directorial debut in Vinayakudu. Prem Patra, whose Aa Naluguru was critically acclaimed is presenting the film, with Sarita Patra producing it under the Prem Movies banner. The film’s shooting was wrapped up and the post production is also in the final stages.

Prem Patra was quoted as saying, “The shooting and editing work has been completed and dubbing is going on now. Our director moulded the film in an attractive manner. Though we were forced to increase the budget due to the media attention, the film has turned out satisfactorily. Those who like novelty will definitely like this film. Sonia, who played Sravs in Happy Days, has given a stellar performance as Kalpana. What is Kalpana’s relationship with Vinayaka? There lies the suspense.”

The director said, “We started the film with a limited budget. However, the production cost went up with the media hype. The film has different elements like love and entertainment.”

Surya Teja, Jyothi, Adarsh, Muralikrishna and Poonam are part of the star supporting cast. National Award winner P.G. Vinda has done some excellent cinematography with music by Shyam Prasanna. Editing is by Marthand K. Venkatesh, lyrics are by Vanamali and Avinash; story, dialogues, screenplay and direction are by Saikiran.

GOPICHAND'S FILM STARTED

Gopichand's new film after Ontari commenced on Friday. Cinematographer K Siva turns director with this project and Anushka, Poonam Kaur are his co-stars. Anand Prasad who made Ammayi Navvite and Manasu Tho is the film's producer and Gopichand says he knew the producer for over six years now and they have been wanting to work together since then.

The actor adds that this is a mass entertainer and will have all kinds of emotions in it. Ajay and Manoj K Jayan, a malayali play villains and the schedule will go on till end of this month. Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Sarat Babu, MS Narayana, Tanikella Bharani, Krishna Baghwan star in the film. Mani Sarma provides music and AM Ratnam writes the dialogues. Cinematography is by Vetri.
