She has a brother named Jasneet, who is three years elder to her. She was studying fashion designing and I.T. at NIFT. 'Nikita' means 'Leader' in the Russian language.

With an army man as her father, this Jallandhar born tall beauty has travelled extensively throughout the country and stayed in Pune, Ranchi and Mumbai, before she settled down in Delhi about two-and-a-half years back. Owing to her father’s transferable job, she studied in St. Mary’s, Pune; Bishop Cottons, Ranchi; Cathedral & John Cannon, Mumbai; and NIFT, Delhi. She has even done a 3-year course in the Trinity School of Speech and Dramas.

A perfect blend of traditionalism and modernity, Nikita believes that staying firm to your roots is the real challenge in life. Asked about one thing she would like to change in India, pat comes the reply, 'Our legal system.'

A student of Fashion Designing, Nikita eventually wants to become a very successful fashion designer and create her own brand name. But for now, her sights are set on Bollywood. She’s a die-hard fan of Shah Rukh Khan and to work with the superstar is her ultimate dream.

Apart from modelling and designing, Nikita´s other passion in life is singing. While staying in Mumbai she even used to sing for a band at a club. "Music is my life, I can’t do without it," she signs off.
