Younger sister of actress Sriranjani Sr.

She is born in Narasa Rao pet in 1927. She debuted into films with Bhishma in 1944. She is known mainly for her roles as the long-suffering wife. In her Tamil film Parasakti she epitomizes the male ideal of virtuous Hindu womanhood. Joined films in Telugu with LV Prasad's Grihapravesam as Lalitha, the ill reputed girl friend of CSR Anjaneyulu. She acted in films by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao, KV Reddy and PS Rama Krishna Rao. She played the blind girl in City Lights (1931) remake of Raj en kanmani. She retired from films in 1960. She returned to cinema field to play a few guest roles, usually of elderly mother figures, after 1969. She died five years later in 1974
