Background

Gopika is a Malayalam actress born in a small town in Kerala. Her parents Anto Francis and Dessy Hunto named her as "Gerly". She has only one sister, Klinli. After completing her 12th standard in St. Raphel’s, Ollur she did her sociology from the Calicut University. She is also talented in classical dance which she learnt from her teacher Kamalam.

Career

Crowned as Miss College during her farewell, she was admired for her beauty and charming smile. She aimed to be an airhostess but landed into the film industry with great movies to her credit such as Kanaa Kanden, Thotti Jaya, Autograph, 4 students, Ponniyin Selvan. She claims that she never wanted to be an actress. She did her own dubbing for her movies in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. The beauty contest Miss Thrisoor was turning point in her life. Though she did not win the title, she stood as the first runner up in the contest which gained her few modeling assignments.

Director Thulasi Das gave her a debut in his “Pranayamanithooval” which did not do well but got her recognition in the film industry. She got a second movie For the People which was a blockbuster and had its prints dubbed in many different Indian Languages. The movie was directed by Jayaraj and she acted opposite Bharath. The song “Lejjavathi Ninda Kalla Kadaikkannil” of the movie “For the People” was also a big hit in Kerala. Renowned Tamil movie director Cheran signed her up for his movie Autograph which was another big hit in 2004. She also acted in Kana Kandein.

Among her other movies she has acted in four Malayalam films, Kanada film “Kanasina Loga” and the Telugu remake of “Azhagi”. Her Telgu film Leta Manasulu crashed the box office was directed by Raju Upati. She stars in the Malayalam movie “Kirtichakra” opposite Mohanlal, the Malayalam super star. Directed by Major Ravi the movie tells the story about a soldier against the backdrop of Kargil war. Apart from Kirtichakra she is also doing another movie with Dileep Pachakuthira. Her previous movie with Dileep Chanthupottu was a big hit.

In the Tamil film industry she is working on “Ashokamitran” staring opposite Dhanush. She is now set to star in Suresh Gopi's, Janman. She will be one of the movie's three heroines.

Devayani is a Tamil actress who was born on June 22,1973 in Mumbai (Bombay), India. Her real name is Sushma. Besides Tamil, she has done films in Bengali, Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu. She started her career with a Hindi film called Goyal followed by a few Malayalam films. Her first Tamil film was called Thottaa Chinungi where she played her only glamorous role to date. She got her big breakthrough in Kadhal Kottai opposite Ajith which was a super hit making her a top heroine in Kollywood and one of the most successful in South Indian Cinema. Devayani has a screen image of a sari clad virtuous family based women unlike the bare clothed modern heroine after Kadhal Kottai. She has become a virtual cult figure in Tamil Nadu after the success of the Mega Serial Kolangal in which she plays the role of Abinaya, the eldest daughter. Kolangal is arguably the best ever serial in Tamil Television industry, and has the highest viewership for any Tamil serial ever.She won Tamilnadu Government's Best Actress award for Kadhal Kottai and Surya Vamsam.

Devayani studied B.Com in National College in Mumbai University. Devayani is a polyglot who knows Tamil, English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Malayalam languages. Her father's name is Jayadev and her mother's name is Lakshmi. She has 2 brothers, Mayoor and Nakul. She married Director Rajakumaran on April 9, 2001 at a temple in Tiruttani near Chennai (Madras). Devayani had acted in Suryavamsham, directed by Vikraman when Rajakumaran was assistant to the director. She was the leading lady in Nee Varuvai Ena, the debut film of Rajakumaran. She was again the heroine in Vinnukum Mannukum, in which she played the role Devayani, the actress. A daughter was born to the couple in 10 January 2006 named Eniya. She recently built a house named Kadhal Kottai after her first big hit film in Chennai (Madras).Devayani is an expert in cooking, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.

BHANU PRIYA

Bhanu Priya Born on January 15, 1967 was a famous leading actress of the Telugu film industry and Kollywood from 1980 to 1993. She also acted in Bollywood in the 1990s. She is now living in United States teaching Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi, the two famous South Indian classical dances. She had acted in over 111 films as an heroine. She is known as the 'other Sridevi'.

Career

Bhanupriya had her debut in the Telugu movie Sitara directed by veteran Vamsi, which was a big hit. She had acted as a heroine in over 25 Telugu films, around 30 films in Tamil and also 14 Hindi films and a few Malayalam films.Known to be an expert in classical dances;in fact all her critically acclaimed movies were based on the subject of classical dance;like Vamsi's "Sitara" and veteran Kasinadhuni Viswanath's "Swarnakamalam" in Telugu and Sathyan Anthikkad's Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal in Malayalam.She is also part of Mani Ratnam's stage show "Netru, Indru, Naalai".

Bhanupriya married Adarshkoushal, an award-winning photographer based in the United States and son of famous Bharatanatyam artist Sumathikoushal in United States. They later divorced. They have a daughter.

Her most famous ad was of Eyetex, a popular eyeliner. She is currently working on "Devathalu" (Telugu) , "Oru Ponnu Oru Paiyan" , "Theekuchi" , "Polladhavan", "Porantha veeda pukuntha veeda"(TV serial) in Tamil.
