This is typical Pawan Kalyan for you. Apparently, our power star Pawan Kalyan is playing a prominent role in a film directed by Singeetam Srinivas Rao and produced by Konda Krishnam Raju (Telugu). This film is based on the life of Jesus Christ.
Singeetam Srinivas Rao is an ace director, who earlier made smash hits like ‘Vichitra Sodaralu’, ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’, and ‘Aditya 369’. This untitled film starring Pawan Kalyan would be made in four languages - English, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. In all these four languages, a local hero would play a prominent role, while rest of the cast includes kids and child artists. And for Telugu version, Pawan Kalyan would be essaying a role.
Producer Konda Krishnam Raju said that the film is based on the life of Jesus Christ and we are planning to rope in top stars for each language to play in Telugu version. Asked what role Pawan Kalyan is playing, Konda Krishnam Raju replied, “It’s too early to reveal his role”. The shooting might commence in July in Mumbai.

Review:
I watched the movie in Casino theatre in Chennai. As Chennaites know that more than half of the tickets at Casino are sold in black, so I bought the 50 rs ticket for 150 and went to the 3 30 show.
Na Na Na ... I wont be letting out the story. Unfortunately there are some well known website who dare to write what they think are letting out everything. After watching movie they should transform.
Movie started. Vedam Title... with a little background.. then the introduction of characters without background music... absolutely fantastic. Really, Keeravani did an amazing job in giving music and background score to the movie and its placement.
As the movie has 5 main characters, screenplay plays a key role. Slightest mistake can bore audience. Krissh was fantastic in his perfection in screenplay. The way he portrayed every character in the first half leaves a big impression that and we will be in a trance that these guys are like this, this is their character. And as the intermission reaches the pace of the movie increases and leaves you guessing what happens next.
The soul of the movie is its second half. Every character transforms by the end of the movie. And each character has its own situations and the way the situations get connected are shown intelligently. The dialogues were excellent.

Manoj reaches realization first of all and the episode was shown brilliantly. Manoj did a good job being looked as a rock star and Lekha Washington is sexy but did not have much to perform. For Manoj Bajpai it was a cake walk. Ramulu played by Nagayya leaves a strong impression with his subtle expression and natural dialogue delivery and body language. Of course Anushka did well.
The one who steals the show is not Allu Arjun ...its Cable Raju. As Gaali Seenu in Gamyam, this character has so many shades. Deeksha seth who played against Allu looked cool and did not have much to do. The scene where Cable Raju's character transforms is the most touching scene in the movie. And the scene received the most intense claps in the theatre.
No character has been wasted in the movie. You have Sathyam Rajesh as Allu's friend, Ravi Prakash as Cop, Saranya, Siya as wife of Manoj Bajpai, the hijra character beside Anushka, Raghu Babu as Dappu Sudhani, Posani Krishna Murali as a cop, Brahmanandam in a small role and the guy who played the role Patel. Every character has some kind of impact on the movie.
I did not hear so many claps in theatre for a movie in recent times. There are so many things Krissh showed in this movie. I think after watching the movie theatre, wait for the DVD and watch it twice or thrice. I did the same for Gamyam and everytime I watch Gamyam I find a new point and likes the movie even more. So this is a movie which you can watch as many times as you want since its not a movie about screenplay or terrorism, its a movie about human beings and their transformation.
After Gamyam I was thinking very high of Krissh and at the same time I thought I should not come to a conclusion so fast with just one movie so I waited. After watching Vedam, I can definitely say Telugu industry got a FILM MAKER after Ram Gopal Varma and Krishna Vamsi. And my 150 rs for ticket was worth enough.
P.S: I have been criticizing our telugu websites from so many days and they again showed the same attitude today. When they watch good movies they dont know what to do and dont know how it performs at box office, so they just give 3/5 and ends with statements like movie is good , have to wait how it performs at box office. Please all you website owners who say that they dare to write should actually do that thing instead of giving such low ratings to movies like Gamyam, Prasthanam, Banam and now Vedam.
And for all those who are looking for Spoilers, here is one....
" Perugu Vada lo Perugu untundhi ...kani... Pulihora lo Puli undadhu kadha.... Nalugu peekithe nenu Nalugu Cheptanu.... " Allu's Dialogue to Krissh. So watch Krissh closely on screen.
If I wrote more than this I will belong to the league of our GOPPA Telugu movie websites. So if you want to know about the movie. Stop reading reviews before going to movie, Watch the movie first and then read the review it contemplates what you think.

Prasthanam (2010) Review by Early Tollywood |
After Leader I did not write any review, because I should be wasting my time commenting on such movies which dont even deserve it, thats why I post such reviews by copy pasting the reviews by other sites. The movie which moved me to write the review now is Prasthanam.
Prasthanam!! wow good name !!
Who is the director dude? Deva Katta (The guy who directed Vennela) Oh...!! (not so satisfied)
Casting.. Sarwanand and Sai Kumar (Good selection dude... after Samanyudu I was very confident with Sai Kumar's performance ..he just steals the screen from other actors and Sarwanand he has some good sense of selection of movies it seems...)
Human emotions as main thing with Vijayawada Politics as backdrop. Nice!! seems interesting... Lets see how is it gonna be.
One of the finest movies made in Telugu in recent times. It can be one among the good movies in this decade. What a performance by Sai Kumar. The movie is based on the fact that human journey is a mix of good and bad deeds. And in the movie you can see the journeys of different people due to the situations they face.
Firstly director should be given the whole credit for writing such a complex story. No doubt this movie is a good one. So I dont want to write all crap for which other sites are there. I would like to mention about the characters and their treatment by the director.
Loki by Sai Kumar is the most complex character in the movie. It travels so much distance that either you may be in a situation where you feel great about the character or feel disgusted. The slight confusion in his mind and his transformation from a good politician to a bad one due to the situations is absolutely fine.
Mitra by Sarwanand is a character who resembles a child who believes his father blindly. When he knows the truth he cannot digest the fact and the way he expresses that he lives in an illusion is awesome.
Chinna's character is also a very good character which is full of jealousy and betrayal.
The journey is mainly based on these three characters and what are the situations created between Mitra and Chinna. Chinna feels jealous of Mitra and his character's Prasthanam starts with a bad deed of killing Basha's (Loki's right hand) daughter and continues to do the same bad deeds to cover up the old ones. So his character mainly travels with a negative shade and ends without a regret.
The climax of the movie can be the heart for the movie which clearly depicts that Mitra is like Light and Loki is like Darkness. When there is light , darkness cannot prevail. And the might of darkness should be appreciated. Darkness cannot be caused on its own , its only due to the situations. And the way Loki's character ends is the best solution to mitra's question to him (nee patra cheragakunda ee natakanni nuvve muginchu nanna...). The war between the light and darkness is PRASTHANAM.
And regarding technical things, camera work plays a major role and Shyam Dutt garu elevated the movie to another level. And Deva Katta should not be hesitated in the future to remove the useless scenes in the movie (mainly the heroine part and some songs in the movie really decreases the tempo of the movie). Since camera work elevates the movie to a different level , eventhough music is little inferior you wont be noticing it. And as a viewer I can comment on only these things and I think every technician should have played a great role in shaping up the movie.
Finally I would like to thank Deva Katta for such a great movie. And I hope he does not get struck and I hope he will try some new genre of films.
