She lived for 14 years in Australia, earned a degree in Economics and came to Bangalore IIM on an exchange programme. But it was theatre and the love for acting that made Vega stay on. Her first movie was Saroja, but it’s her second movie that's alerted the movie industry and audiences to the actress in her. She plays a kindergarten teacher in the recently released children’s flick Pasanga, and has everyone applauding her effort. But she had no idea cinema was her calling!
“No way! And South Indian films were never on my radar! But this is a pleasant surprise indeed!” she coos. She surprises us even more by saying she is considering dubbing for her next movie. “I don’t enjoy hearing someone else’s voice to my acting. It is quite disconcerting!”
For Vega, the stage is just as exciting as the big screen, and she has no intentions of giving up theatre. “There is so much energy on stage. You interact with the person in the first row and the one in last row. You connect. You see smiles. That gives you the confidence to go on,” she says.
Besides Tamil, the young actress has a Telugu film and a Hindi film in the offing. “In House full [Telugu], I play an air hostess who loses everything in one night and finds love in the next 24 hours. While Aamras [Hindi] is about the relationship of four girls, of which I am an 18-year-old low on confidence,” she reveals.
